TEACHING POSITIONS WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE DEPENDENT SCHOOLS (DODDS)
Department of Defense Education Activity
The Department of Defense operates schools, Pre-Kindergarten through grade 12, in
overseas areas for the purpose of providing American, public school type education
for minor dependents of active duty military and civilian personnel in overseas
areas.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualifications for a teaching position within DoDDS include the following:
- United States Citizenship.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- 18 semester hours in education courses.
- Student-teaching or internship.
- Good physical condition.
- Availability on a worldwide basis
- Meeting DODDS competency test requirements
- Usually secondary teachers must fully qualify by education and\or experience in
two subject fields (i.e., English and physical education; social studies and art;
etc.).
Application Procedures::
The processing of requests for employment is conducted by the Department of Defense
Education Activity. Applications for teaching positions are accepted year round.
Applicants are encouraged to apply by January for employment during the following
